About the lecture:
Prof. Ton Dietz will talk about an institutional geographical approach to the study of natural resources. First he will give an analytical overview of the global distribution of natural resources and its links with wealth creation, and conflict. Then he will talk about the variety of arrangements to deal with the governance of and entitlements to natural resources, about the institutional arrangements involved at various governance levels, and about the need for partnerships between relevant stakeholders. Finally he will touch upon the impact of climate change on the political ecology of natural resources and its 'management'.
